Sports movement and breath of ancient China, Tai Chi, it can reduce the symptoms of chronic pain experienced by fibromyalgia sufferers. According to research published in the journal New England Journal of Medicine.
The pain in fibromyalgia patients are generally beyond pain in general. In fact, a sufferer may complain from pain even just touch his body. The pain is spreading in some parts of the body, such as shoulders, chest and legs, and occurs continuously.
Tai chi uses the body and mind approach turned out to be a viable alternative for patients who whipped fibromyalgia pain. Tai chi is a breathing exercise that uses movements soft and supple, in accordance with the philosophy of this sport to move energy (chi) throughout the body.
In the study, doctors randomly asked 66 patients fibromayalgia to exercise tai chi for 12 weeks and the rest did stretching exercise. They do these exercises two hours each week in class and repeat it at home for 20 minutes every day.
After finishing the training sessions, 79 percent of the tai chi class participants claimed they experienced their pain symptoms significantly reduced. The number of participants is more than just gym class warm-up just 39 percent of the complaints decreased.
Tai chi participants also said their emotions are more stable, they sleep better and increase the overall quality of life. However, this study only covers a small number of patients. The researchers also did not know what aspect of movements of tai chi can help patients reduce the complaint, whether the session if his breathing, relaxation movement, or for meeting friends in the class.
